Asia’s energy needs will drive US development: officials
As North America becomes a major source of global energy, Asia’s growing demand will drive development.
Speakers at the Asia-Montana Energy Summit at theUniversity of Montana warned that while the Rocky Mountains are becoming America’s “energy breadbasket,” they are also the continents most unpopulated region. The Missoulian newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/1c2f5M8 ) that Former Wyoming Gov. Jim Geringer says that creates a management problem for exporting energy, especial as renewable energy sources are not keeping up with growing demand.
Officials at the conference say Asian nations are waiting for the United States to decide how or if it’s going to develop new export terminals along the Pacific Coast.
The two-day conference brings energy experts and political leaders from five nations together to look at market trends and global energy needs. – Missoulian.com
