India lays foundation of Octamax unit at refinery
Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt of India, laid the foundation stone of ambitious Octamax project of Mathura Refinery on 6th March 2016.
The Octamax unit is IndianOil’s own brain child project conceived by R & D Division and is in line with the ‘’Make in India’’ vision of Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. Mathura Refinery is selected to have the first Demonstration Unit of this technology.
Upon his arrival to the Refinery, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan received a floral welcome from Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Director (Refineries) and Mr. S.M Vaidya, General Manager (I/C) Mathura Refinery.
A presentation on operational highlights, details on Octamax project and various activities carried by Mathura Refinery under Corporate Social Responsibility were discussed at large. Mr. Pradhan showed keen interest in the CSR activities and stressed on providing benefits to every individual directly or indirectly associated with the Refinery. He appreciated the efforts of the corporation for adopting the concept of ‘’Make in India” and constructing the Octamax unit indigenously.
Mr. Pradhan expressed his satisfaction on the fact that the MS produced through Octamax will be of BS VI standard and will be an environment friendly product. Mr. Rajkumar Rawat, MLA, Goverdhan, Mathura, Mr. AK Chowdhury, ED (HR), Mr. BP Das, ED (I/C) R&D, Mr. DK Rakesh, GM(HR), Mr. RS Patel GM(TS & HSE), senior officials from UP State Office and DGMs and HODs of Mathura Refinery were present during the presentation.
Later, the Minister visited Ecological Park of Mathura Refinery and appreciated the ambience. He planted sapling encouraging greenery inside battery area and was impressed to know that large number of Migratory birds visit MR Eco Park every winter. He penned down his feelings in the Visitor’s book- “I compliment team Mathura for this novel initiative of creating a beautiful ecosystem by treating used water. This is a small but commendable step towards green and clean environment. My sincere appreciation.”
MoS (IC), P&NG also visited Swarna Jayanti Samudaik Hospital, a major CSR initiative of Mathura Refinery. He was briefed about the medical facilities available in the hospital. He also met the patients and distributed bed sheets and pillows to them. Mr. Pradhan appreciated the medical services rendered by Mathura Refinery to surrounding area especially to the below poverty line residents in and around Mathura region.
