Adani ties up with Kowa for the marketing of green hydrogen
India’s Adani Group has entered into a 50:50 joint venture (jv) with Japan-based manufacturing and trading company Kowa Holdings Asia for sales and marketing of green ammonia, green hydrogen and its derivatives. Under the pact, the jv will focus on marketing of products in Japan, Taiwan and Hawaii, the company said in a statement.
Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), the green hydrogen subsidiary of the Adani Group, is developing comprehensive solutions to manufacture globally competitive green hydrogen and its sustainable byproducts on a significant scale.
The first project of Adani involves the production of 1 million tonnes/year of green hydrogen, and is currently progressing through planned phases in Gujarat. The initial production phase is anticipated to commence operations by the FY27. Depending on prevailing market conditions, it aims at increasing its production capacity to up to 3 million tonnes/year of green hydrogen within the next decade, with an investment of approximately US$50 billion.
