Worley to conduct pre-FEED for e-methanol project in Sweden

Tech firm Worley says it will undertake initial design and engineering for Liquid Wind’s 100,000-tonne/year NorthStarH2 e-methanol facility in Östersund, Sweden.

Meanwhile, separate plans by Orsted for a e-methanol project at Ornskoldsvik were cancelled in August.

The NorthStarH2 facility, which is being developed on behalf of Uniper, aims to produce over 100,000 tonnes/year of e-methanol The feedstock will help decarbonise shipping and chemical industries.

Worley’s focus during pre-FEED (front end engineering design) will be on the balance of plant, which encompasses all supporting systems and infrastructure necessary for the facility’s operation.

Work will be led by our Nordic team located at Gothenburg and Copenhagen offices, supported by global hydrogen experts and its team in India.
