Shell Catalysts & Technologies to supply EO catalyst to Jiangsu Dynamic Chemical
Shell Catalysts & Technologies (SC&T) will supply ethylene oxide (EO) catalyst to Jiangsu Dynamic Chemical (JDC). This development is expected to maximise returns for the Nanjing –based manufacturer of chemical new materials and fine chemicals. The agreement will also allow for technical services utilising Shell’s upstream and downstream expertise. JDC, which specialises in researching and manufacturing EO derivatives and fine chemicals in China, operates two units with a total EO capacity of 180,000 tonnes/year.

Earlier in the year, SC&T has signed a contract with Shangdong Shangneng Group for the use of SC&T’s new heavy feed hydrocracking catalyst system (MACH) when it starts up in April 2021. It also has snagged a contract with PT Pertamina Rosneft Pengolahan dan Petrokimia (PT PRPP), which, according to reports will utilise SC&T’s proprietary technologies, including the OMEGA process for the production of mono-ethylene glycol (MEG), and the distillate hydrotreating process ( for the catalytic removal of sulphur/nitrogen and/or hydrogenation of aromatics from diesel fractions of certain crude oils, in the refinery it is building in Tuban, Java Timur, Indonesia.
